Dr. Timm-H. Jessen

… was trained in chemistry and biochemistry, graduated at the University of Kiel and received his PhD from the University of Munich (Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry). He performed his postdoctoral work in the field of Structural Biology in Cambridge / UK at the Laboratory of Molecular Biology.

In 1991 Dr. Jessen joined Aventis (Hoechst AG at that time) for the preparation and execution of pre-clinical discovery projects including target validation studies at Harvard Medical School (Dept. of Genetics). Dr. Jessen was Head of Biotechnology for HMR Germany before he joined Evotec OAI (Evotec BioSystems at that time) in November 1997 as Chief Scientific Officer.

In his role as Member of the Executive Management Team he co-led Evotec through its IPO in 1999, its acquisition of OAI Ltd. / Oxford and its growth into an international service and discovery company comprising more than 600 employees.

In 2004 Dr. Jessen set up his own consultancy business SCIENAMICS GmbH and has acted since as the Managing Director of the company which provides support, advice and reviews to clients from biotech and the Venture Capital area by leveraging his own expertise and his network of distinguished, external experts.
